What kind of plasma TV 42''es the best to buy that is not too expensive?

Well, I'm looking for a 42''TV plasma for my family and I have no idea what to get type because many people say it is great, but has many things that need to be repaired and is expensive. So the brand to get and I'd like to be under $ 3000

Plasma TVs are much better and reliable. For the most part are maintenance free. It is necessary to keep them clean and the holes that allow heat to escape free of debris. Plasma TVs can be fragile. So a good food that is low and stable is necessary. Or go to resistant wall mounting. I like the Panasonic plasmas. I think they are a bit better than the Sony plasmas. I sent a link to my fave.
