I am preparing a theater at home with the components I'm buying as I pay. I currently have a system with 5.1 channel surround sound audio receiver 6.1 channel to a DVD player and HDTV. I need to know how to connect to my receiver a to listen to my movies and TV with surround sound.

Basically you could connect everything to your receiver. I would like to connect your DVD player for surround sound through a digital cable (optical or coaxial) output on the DVD player to an input on the receiver. Also the same to his departure from HDTV to an entry in the receiver. For video to connect your DVD player directly to your TV high definition through a component cable. Check out the DVD player to an input on the TV.
