Home theater question?
I have a cable box, an HDTV and 7.1 Pioneer home theater receiver. I have an HDMI cable from the cable box to receiver and an HDMI cable from receiver to TV. The diagnosis on the receiver indicates the speakers (I'm using 5 plus a subwoofer) are working. Each speaker makes noise during the test installation. But when I turn on the TV, receiver says 'Stereo' and only the front speakers, center speaker and subwoofer work. Why can not I make this work?
Maybe your receiver is not set in one of the surround modes. Consult the manual to see how enter the sound menu, and select one of the Dolby surround sound settings while tuned to a premium movie channel.
