The Adirondack chair is an important type of patio furniture. These chairs are a unique and elegant, comfortable and fashionable. Adirondack chairs have existed over a hundred years, and have evolved over time to be what they are today.

The Adirondack chair originally called the Westport chair was designed in 1903 by a man named Thomas Lee. Every summer, Lee and his 22 family members a Travel in a small town on the shore of Lake Champlain called Westport, New York. So Lee decided to take matters into their own hands. He began the creation of the new chair designs of boards nailed together in your front yard, asking his family members to try them. Lee took the family a chair tilted back, a sloping seat and wide arm rests.

In 1904, Bunnell requested a patent for President Lee, giving the name of the Westport chair. He was granted a patent in the summer 1905 and began the manufacture and sale of Westport chairs. Bunnell not asked Lee for permission to sell their chairs, or even tell him to apply for a patent.
