DLP or LCD?
I will get a new TV soon thanks to homeowner's insurance (lightning took out a lot). Expect to get a 56 "screen; this to me (children's television has replaced w / a LCD), most movies, sports, not playing. I do not want plasma. Will be in a foot-high pedestal, but are on the ground as often as they sit on the furniture, so they want a vision generous sweet spot. "My theater experience house best with an LCD or DLP type? (I know that to get 1080i. A friend recently received a DLP and is delighted with it.) Specific models appreciated but not required, the price is not a big problem.
One thing to consider is the price. A 52 "LCD good quality can cost over $ 4,500 in a similar DLP is less than $ 1300. Why wouldnt you want a plasma? It has a viewing angle of 170 degrees and better black levels than LCD. Side note its 1080i not you want in a DLP, the 1080P.
