DVD not only the voices sound in the background?

Help put a home theater in our house, but when we went to watch a DVD that had background noise, but No voices. Here the steps could walk and the background music, but there mouths were moving, but not here. The equipment we are using is … The projector The Optoma HD72 is a DVD is Harman / Kardon 37 The Receiver Harman / Kardon AVR 145, JBL speakers and 5.1 Series I space system has a HDMI cable running from the projector to DVD Player and a White / Red cable running form the DVD player to the receiver. All the speakers are working fine, when CD play is good that is just when I watch movies with no voices. Please Help Me

I think your problem is the red / white RCA cables. They will not carry all the 5.1 Dolby Digital signal you need to run a HMDI cable from the DVD to receieve, and then another HDMI cable from the receiver to your projector. Or save a little money of having to buy another expensive HDMI cable, buy an optical or coaxial digital cable and run it from your DVD player to your receiver. Set the correct input on your receiver and you should be all clever.
