I recently installed a home theater system. I have a nice 50 "plasma on the wall. All the wiring is hidden. I have 5 speakers infinity all wall mounted. I have a Denon AVR receiver, and use the cable TV through Comcast. No matter what I do, buzzzzzz there is still a constant or some might call it a hummmmmmm coming through my speakers. Most of the time do not listen, because there are over programming on television. But if the TV is quiet, it's there. I maxed the settings. I have the TV sound all the way. The Comcast cable box sound all way. And I use the AVR sound as my main and that helps a lot, but the sound is still there in the background. I'm told it's because I'm using Comcast cable and there is nothing that can do about it, but surely there is some type of electronic muffler that can be used to zoom out.

There are 3 common forms into the buzzing gets into your system: A) coaxial CATV B) of the ground loop with a powered sub C) 60Hz AC noise into the wiring. This is where you can sample some of these: a) Shut down and turn up the volume so that the buzz is remarkable. A screw of the main cable TV coaxial cable. If the hum stops, please contact your cable company and have to go out and coaxial cable in the ground outside her house. B) Get the system to generate buzz and a subwoofer plug. If the buzz stops you have 2 ways to solve the problem: – Get a 2-tooth at 3-prong adapter and put it in the power cord from the subwoofer. – Get a Subwoofer cable with little arrows. The RCA cable connecting the shield at both ends. This breaks the ground loop. C) We now have the wires running close to the wires AC power and this is the injection of noise in the system. You basically have to try to disconnect some of the interconnections of a trial and error attempt to see if one cable is causing the problem. The other source could be the speaker cables (are these on the wall?). Again – Try a test at a time to see that the wires are causing the problem. I hope one of these techniques help locate the problem. EDIT: This is weird – but may occur: Look at the back of his equipment rack. Are the power cables separate from the interconnect and speaker cables? You really want 3 separate bundles of wires that are kept separate: the AC power cables, speaker cables, interconnects. Make sure your AC power cable are not connected closely with the other cables.
