First home theater receiver, HDMI questions?
in search of my home theater receiver, 3-4 HDMI inputs, 1 output, the difference is to go through of or upconversion. Does the HDMI carry video and audio? Now only a blue ray player is Ito connected. Do you need component cables audio, in addition to HDMI, 1080P blue ray is the non-degraded signal through upscaling receiver, is going directly through a pass-through of?. Anyone have answers?
That's a lot of questions. HDMI carries video and audio. The Blu-ray players will not degrade through the receiver, because if you has the correct configuration, the Blu-ray will output at 1080p and will not be so converted, only changed. The problem with some passing through the receptors is that only Video pass through and you need to connect the audio via optical cable. (Toslink) My suggestion to the receiver is Onkyo 706 or 606. 706 has 4 inputs HDMI and 1. 606 has 2 HDMI inputs / 1 output. Ready to current and future rates of HDMI. Full TrueHD sound!
