What is the best home stereo / theater equipment in your opinion?
Right now I have a sunfire 200×5 amp and preamp, dvp9000es Sony CD? DVD, all Nordost cables, and Martin Logan Request, scripts, movie channels and speakers in the center also. I was looking EAD if I could find one. Sure there are better more affordable amplifiers Mark Levinson or Krell. Please let me know of any ideas. Thank you.
I think you have to look at a price point. You can get (Hi End) amplifiers and speakers that cost as much as households in those days. If you're using the Sunfire electronics and Martin Logan for speakers, chances are you would have to spend much more for sound quality a little better. There are very few in the mid-line amplifiers in high the market which would give 85% of large Levinson and Krell's. It just depends on how much to spend. You can try a website called "Audiogon.com" and is video counterpart, Videogon.com. Look in: Parasound, Pass, Bel Canto, McCormack, B & K, Muse, Classe, Bryston, Muse, PS Audio, Counterpoint, Arcam, Odyssey, Acurus and many, many more! ** Just a final thought, the Sunfire is as good as any of the following in the list, who have to go almost "Very Hi End" to overcome, like a great Levinson or Krell.
