What is the best place to connect devices (DVD, Satallite, VCR), plasma TV and home theater receiver.?

1) Should cable installation to separate the plasma from DVD, receiver and video Satallite (I've installed component cables from DVD and satellite receiver – and the cable Composite video vedio thats because that is what the output device) and audio cables from these devices to Yamaha HTR6050 receiver. 2) The 2nd option is to run the component and composite cables for the receiver device and then run one cable from the Yamaha receiver to plasma TV. My plasma TV has a 29-pin DVI input, where as Yahama receiver has 1 HDMI output (I suppose I can get HDMI to DVI cable …) In this case I think I have to run separate audio cable TV Yamaha receiver and then receiver to home theater speakers. Has anyone done research on these things before? Which option will give me better picture quality? My TV is 50''de plasma with 1366×768 native resolution Thanks a bunch for reply.

If I understand correctly your receiver upconverts any video input to HDMI, correct? Based on the information provided this would be more convenient for you, and causes the receiver to the center of your system. Consult your manual first run, but all connections of audio / video receiver and make your TV to a monitor. good luck
