Can someone help me pick a projector?

So I'm trying to make a small theater with a friend as a birthday surprise (I'm a good boy: D lol) So I need to get a projector, ceiling mount, and a screen. I found the screen fine, but then I realized I could not get the mount with the projector to know what I have. Can you help? Again, this is for a home theater, so it should have high quality. A remote control would be good, and I want to be able to connect, for example, my DVD player, or my NES. Price, of course, is a major concern. The overwhelming majority I pay for is $ 400. A is also used, if not too battered and the quality is good. Can you help? I mean only $ 400 the projector. Not for the woods or on the screen.

For $ 400 you will not find anything with a new image of high quality. You can find something renovated or suspend or used (although in the latter case, be careful because many of the projectors used immediately or soon need replacement lamps ($ 300 – $ 500). I'm not going to suggest brand / model from its limitation is the budget and must be able to judge whether to go with what you find. That said, get something from a manufacturer of brand (eg BenQ, Epson, InFocus, Optoma). Want a brightness rating of at least 1000 lumens. The native resolution should be at least 800×600 pixels and 1024×768 or higher is highly desirable. Contrast ratio is a misleading specification, but looks at least 2000:1 for home theater use (less than and the image tends to look washes). Prices are even lower than a year ago, and there are some excellent buys in high definition projectors for well under $ 1,000, which may be able to obtain agreement on discontinuous or order something online.
