Home Theater wall question?
- I need something to serve as a divider between my work in progress home theater room and game room. Both are actually a large room. The ceiling is 8 "and width of the room is 13 '. I need something that would go well with chocolate and walls white carpet. It has to be removable, it can not be any permanent wall between home cinema and games room. It should also be less than $ 500.00. Any suggestions?
Assuming this is a basement that I would use styrofoam insulation panels that you would find in a home center. They come in different thicknesses and are male and female so you can lock. What I'd do it or glue (construction adhesive) or screw (Tapcon screws if cement floor) two pieces of 1×3 to the floor and the bottom of the floor joists. Leave a space slightly wider than the thickness of insulation boards, slide and push the tongue and groove edges together. You will not be able to paint with oil based paint, as it melts the polystyrene foam, latex but may work. Or you can cover with wallpaper, a cloth. If you cover it with wallpaper and you want to remove the panels will have to make cuts in their joints. If the room is in the living room of the house, you definitely want to change how groups come together.
