home theater speaker .. terminilogies help (impedance freq.range .. etc)?
I have a Sony home theater 2 years ago and I'm also planing easy to buy a 5.1 channel home theater to put it in the other room. please advice or specifications w C is better (I'll hide the brands Sony and Philips know w / c is good) * home theater 1 satellite speakers and subwoofer -2.7 ohm nominal impedance (frequency range not specified in the manual) * Home Theater 2: Speaker Satellite – 4 ohms, 150-20000Hz center speaker – 8 ohm, 150-20000Hz Subwoofer – 8 ohms, 45-150Hz Please choose w / c sheet is better home theater sound output. What is better higher or lower ohms (impedance), thanks
Assuming Both systems come with built-in amplifier then it really does not matter, as the amplifiers will able to handle the impedance (whether 2.7 or 4 or 8 ohms). But as a rule, 6-8 ohms is the best compromise for a speaker between 'driveability and sound. Thus I suggest the 2nd system would be your best bet in general, although the frequency of the top of the subwoofer is a little higher than optimal. which relies exclusively in the figures, of course: it is best to listen to both systems and see which you like better!
