Is there a delay in home theater speakers?

I've heard of late about HDTV and how they are bad for the game sometimes and I wonder if the same applies to speaker systems. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665793572 I have something like this and I was thinking about connecting my computer with an optical cable and use it to play. Will I notice any lag with this?

This delay has heard is not really a problem with new LCD and was never an issue with plasma. The delay in the first LCD was not caused by the fiber optic cable (transmission of information) or the type of input / output, but the sample (LCD) ability to react fast enough to display the torrent of information coming toward her through any video cable was being used (HDMI, DVI, coax …. whatever). In summary, the small screen that make up the television screen could not react fast enough to keep up with what is being asked to do. This was a specification appears as "response time". Early LCD TV and LCD computer monitors had a slow response time, it took longer to react to a new image. At the beginning of the response times of 25 milliseconds has processors or bad and very slow, and this is the "delay" people talk. Even Cheapo Walmart these days have a response time of approximately 5-8 milliseconds and much faster processors. The human eye can not detect any lag at this speed. To notice "delay" in the latest LCD TV in these days you need high-speed cameras to catch him. The players, in particular the account of this problem due to the rapid nature Lag (which changes rapidly screen image) of the games they play. Hardcore gamers also tend to be a bit more demanding in their equipment and materials that the average consumer. Since the speakers have simply taken the light pulses and convert them into electrical impulses to actually make the change of speakers and make the sound, should not have this problem. Unless, of course, the speakers are hundreds of meters away from the screen that is the short answer ;-) ? There is no digital audio signal that is sent to the speakers of a HT is not suffer the same delay that a video screen is, okay. Happy gaming!
