connect surround sound home theater cable television?
I connect my home theater system (JVC TH-C50) to my HDTV (Vizio 26 "LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, VW26L) so that when I watch cable TV I hear my surround sound. And I'm to the point that I have an upstairs room, so I have both a cable box in my room, if that helps in any way. Thank you and may mean a lot if someone can help. I connect my home theater system (JVC TH-C50) to my HDTV (Vizio 26 "LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner, VW26L) so that when I watch cable TV I hear my surround sound. And I'm to the point that I a floor above the room, so I do not have a cable box in my room, if that helps somehow. Thank you and that would mean a lot if someone can help. EDIT: Well, I have a digital optical cable, but no slot for the optical digital cable TV to connect a. Everything is in my room. I just can not get the sound surround working with my DVD player and my ps2 with the optical digital cable.
The TV has HDMI – but only inputs. There are no audio outputs, except output headset on TV. So if you must have digital sound – you have to have a digital cable box. (Sorry, but this would be the cheapest option and easier)
