How do I connect laptop to LCD / Plasma?

Ok asique's the deal, I'm kind of new to this subject, so I'm asking for best results. I have a Dell Precision M70 with Windows Vista Ultimate. I would be able to connect an LCD TV to use as a monitor and see the Media Center. I've been looking at Toshiba 32 inch LCD TV and the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 MCE Kit – TV tuner / video input adapter – PCI me access all the features of Media Center. What I need to know: What LCD TV is a good option, what cables you need to buy to get a screen good quality, and the laptop screen still appears when connected to LCD TV?

you have to have a monitor cable, the end of the same is blue with the screw bits. you need a one with both at the same end (most of them are so hard not to, Im sure you have one at home), attach an to the laptop and the TV. then right-click the desktop, go to properties and display properties have soared, the Configuration tab, forward button, it shows the tab, then click TV. and then apply it and that's it.
