Buying an HDTV is no small investment. This is not just the price that worries you. You also want the best possible set budget.

There is really no such thing as "the best type of HDTV." Everything depends on what you are looking for and the type of money you want to invest.

Generally, high definition plasma televisions are known for their image quality. If you want the best image quality to compare prices go for plasma. However, if the screen size is more important to you, you can get HUGE DLP sets for a fraction of the price of a plasma or LCD of the same price.

And what is good for LCDs? Well, even a plasma screen LCD, such as quality and the large size is generally more expensive than other monitors, LCDs are much thinner and lighter, and most expensive are those a standard plasma and DLP simply does not compare.

DLP

DLP is great if you're looking for good deal on a giant screen. You can get a 73 inch 1080p HDTV for $ 2500. Remember though, if you're looking to go in 50 inches, remember not to look for DLP rear projection. Blacks of them are quite impressive, so you do not have to suffer with the contrast of garbage. It should also look for models with LED backlighting, which are instant-on, have a quality of beautiful colors and last much longer than bulb based light classical models.

What are the disadvantages? Well, although DLP is fairly mild, they are usually quite thick and does not work very well with the wall brackets. The biggest problem however is the viewing angle. If you want to watch TV in a small room from all angles, the DLP is best avoided as it is able to maintain its image quality from extreme angles.

Plasma

Aside from the ridiculously expensive LCD, plasma surpasses all free motion blur, contrast and blacks. If you've read this in the past that you may be concerned about the short life and extends the burn-in. These are not problems with newer games that have a much longer and the fight against the loss of technology.

Disadvantages: Plasma consumes twice the power of LCDs, so if your bill electricity, because you keep on the night, you may want to think twice before you go plasma. The plasma is generally more expensive than an LCD of the same size (remember that you get a great picture quality as a result). They are slightly heavier than LCD, but not enough to break your wall mount.

LCD

LCD is the default for HD TV if you're looking to go 42 "or less. The smaller screens are less expensive than plasma and tend to become more flexible and lighter than others. You can dial in the back light in an LCD, it can easily be greened – ideal for movie night. Although image quality generally not as good as plasma, the new models much more expensive LED backlit nearby.
