Plasma and LCD TVs are the latest trend in home entertainment. Both offer better picture quality and resolution, while the volume of the largest end rear projection technologies. But with all the hype surrounding these two types of televisions, what is the difference between them? Although their appearance and are virtually the same price, they are not.
There are differences in how they present their photos. The plasma TV technology is composed of hundreds of thousands of little pixels, each capable of displaying red, green and blue colors. A plasma is often composed of two panels that are filled with an inert gas such as xenon or neon. When the pixels are excited by electrical pulses, the gas becomes liquid, thus generating light. This light in turn illuminates the pixels, which makes display the appropriate color to form an image.
LCD panels work similarly. A group of thin film emitters, or TFT, sends electricity to the liquid crystal cells filled. When cells are affected by electricity, liquid crystals allow light to filter through. Unlike pixels on TVs Plasma, LCD monitors create color by blocking the appropriate wavelengths of white light.
So who is better? The answer to this question depends on what you use for TV. Do not want to just use it to watch movies and television? If so, a TV Plasma May be better, because they can no longer saturated color and contrast than their LCD counterparts and for displaying moving images. If you plan to spend much time showing digital photography or use your computer screen, then an LCD may be suitable for these purposes.
Both plasma and LCD technologies each have their advantages and disadvantages and its ultimate decision must be based on Monitor your application.
