HDMI and audio??
Ok, I know that HDMI cables transmit video and audio, but I am confused as to why I can not get my work surround sound. I have a new Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV (Model: LC-42D64U) and a home theater system Sony (DAV-HDX275) I hooked up an HDMI cable from my surround sound to my TV, but when I try to watch TV I can get my surround sound system to play audio from TV to life ….. I've read through both the Sony Bravia and manuals surround sound system and you can calculate the values that make it possible. Is this possible and I'm just an idiot who can not solve? or am even more of an idiot who bought a surround sound system that is not compatible? Please help, any suggestions would help!
It seems that Sony sound system has HDMI, then you must feed the HDMI source (cable or DVD player) to one of the HDMI inputs on the Sony, then Sony's output to TV. The Sony will pass the video to the TV, but having the sound of the HDMI connection. When you select that input on your Sony, which will automatically send the video source to get a TV and surround sound too.
