Here are some ideas about the benefits of choosing a Plasma HDTV. It is recalled that these are general statements and may vary between brands and models.
Black / Contrast Levels
One of the most important and certainly what the experts always check first is that the black levels. In general, black levels have traditionally been the best in plasma displays mainly due to the way it contrasts create screens – LCD alter crystals to block light while plasmas modify the power of each pixel – such as plasma screens are generally much more effective to show the blacks. The gap between the best plasmas and LCDs certainly has recently reduced some of the best LCD screens from Sony, Samsung and Panasonic rival plasma screens for the fund than their black and contrasts.
Viewing Angle
The first LCD screens were very poor in this sense – basically had to sit in a very narrow band to watch TV properly. Plasma displays have a wider viewing angle (up to 160 degrees). Once again the gap between the two formats has been reduced dramatically with most LCDs have very good viewing angles however is that this is a primary concern, then in general, plasma TVs have the advantage.
Color Swatch
A much closer call, and in essence, the winner in this sense is probably due to individual preferences. Plasma displays individual pixels contain blue, green and red have done potentially have an advantage creation of accurate color depth, but LCDs have an advantage of creating colors by changing light and, as such, produce a bright, clearest evidence that many people prefer.
Brightness
This is where the LCD is a clear winner – LCD can produce white light much more easily than plasmas and use much less energy to do so.
